The beautiful turquoise waters of the French Riviera are sure to impress you. To start your French Riviera adventure, fly into the tiny principality of Monaco.

Monaco is of course known for the fancy casinos and yacht-lined harbors and the lifestyle of the rich and famous culture. To save a little bit of cash, it is better to stay in Nice and take the 25-minute train ride into Monaco. If you wish to splurge, there are plenty of incredible 4-5 star hotels in Monaco to choose from. There are plenty of things to do from lounging about Larvotto Beach (free to the public) or trying your luck at the Monte Carlo casino. If you need some time to relax, there are plenty of spa options including the opulent Thermes Marins Monte Carlo.

The next stop in our French Riviera tour is Nice. In Nice, you can watch the world go by or join the active locals and rent a bike or roller skates on the Promenade des Anglais. You can also enjoy the wonderful markets around town or take in some fabulous art at one of the amazing museums the city has to offer.

Are you looking for an off the beaten path experience? The tiny town of Eze may be just what you are looking for. Eze is about 7 miles away from Nice. Eze is a beautiful little cliff side town that offers incredible views. There are incredible perfumeries and art galleries to satisfy the shopper in you.

Another off the beaten path destination is Grasse. Grasse is known as the perfume capital of the world. The fields of lavender and the museum of perfume will tantalize your senses of sight and smell. Grasse is worth a quick stop since it is located just north of Cannes.

Cannes is famous for the film festival, however, if you are not one of the elite to get invited to the festival, there are plenty of things to do in Cannes! You can stroll the promenade, La Croisette and enjoy one of the many cafes. You can take a ferry (about 15 minutes away) to one of the 4 islands outside of Cannes. Fort de I’lle on Ile Ste-Margurites where the real-life Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned.

There is a wonderful world of people watching, markets, museums and casinos waiting for you in the French Riviera. It will leave you saying “la vie est belle!” or “LIfe is good!”
