Specialities

I cover the world and I work with all companies (cruises and tours) However, I specialize in land tours. Whether that is a guided bus tour or a customized itinerary, I believe you are really able to immerse yourself in a destination by seeing it by land. You get a great taste of a lot of destinations by cruise – but for a great in depth understanding of a destination, I believe you need to actually spend some time there.

Destinations Visited

Mexico (Cancun, Cozumel, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta) Jamaica, Many destinations throughout the United States and Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, London, Paris, Switzerland, Italy, Brussels, China, Honduras, Belize, New Zealand, Fiji, and as they say, I have not been everywhere, but it is on my list!

Why I’m a Travel Agent

I cannot imagine doing anything else. I am a wish granter and a dream weaver. I have the best job in the world. I get to craft experiences  and memories for my clients. I am a part of someone’s memories and a lot of times I am a part of their lives. It is always so wonderful to have someone call you and I can say, “Oh hi! How is the family? How did so and so’s wedding go last year?” I love being a part of someone’s extended family. I love when my client is ready to book a trip, they cannot wait to get me on the phone. I love that when they return from a trip, they tell me everything and share their photos with me. Getting to travel for my job is icing on the cake. I love the personal relationships that are cultivated.

Most Memorable Travel Experience

How do you pick just one?! I think my trip to Paris and Brussels with my husband  was one of my favorite trips. In Paris we boarded the train to Versailles and as we pulled away an accordion  player came on and started to play and I could see the Eiffel Tower in the background. It was such a beautiful and organic moment – I could not have set it up better if I had tried.

Recommended Right Now

There are so many places to visit right now. Cuba is one of them. Get to Cuba! Also, if the Passion Play in Ommeramergau is on your bucket list, book it now! Tour dates are already filling up even though the tour is 2 years away.

Most Recent Trip

My most recent trip was to Johnson City, Texas around the San Antonio area. We wanted to do a small getaway with my daughter and Texas is ginormous so for a weekend get-away, we did a quick visit to the Exotic Zoo Resort. Check out my video review of it on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/iAFmAEc62tc

Career History

I have always had my hand in some sort of hospitality position. I started out at 15 working for a family owned restaurant, then moved to a management position at a Kmart Shoe Mart when I was 16. I worked at a couple of local grocery stores in the Customer Service department before I left to attend the Walt Disney World College program. I worked at a hotel and at a bank before moving to Texas. When I came to Texas, I worked for a small home based travel agency before moving on the AAA. In my time with AAA, I quickly became one of their top agents. After having my daughter I decided to open my own business, and Brilliant Journeys was born!
