The duration of this tour is about two hours. Today’s Mediterranean lunch offers great views of the Marina.

Day 3

BARCELONA: Today is a free day for you to explore Barcelona on your own. Be sure to explore Las Ramblas, the tree-lined pedestrian mall that runs through the heart of the city. This is a vibrant and lively promenade filled with Barcelona action at its best, including many sidewalk cafes, shops, and street performers. (Be aware that the southern end, near the port, can turn somewhat seedy in the evening.) Explore the nearby Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of the city, where you can see remnants of the Roman and Medieval city walls.

Day 4

BARCELONA TO VALENCIA: This morning take the AVE train down to Valencia, an emerging cultural destination for both art and cuisine. Located on the coast, Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain; it has attractive beaches, a thriving nightlife, and superb food. After checking into your hotel, explore this fascinating city on your own.

Day 6

VALENCIA TO MADRID: This morning, board your first-class AVE train for the 1½-hour trip to Madrid. After checking into your hotel, begin your exploration of this capital city. Walk down one of the many elegant boulevards, sample a glass of Cava or sparkling wine, and enjoy an authentic Madrid dinner.
