Meet Heather…
Hi, I’m Heather Luckey—wife, mom, and proud founder of Brilliant Journeys.
My career in travel began in 2003 with the Walt Disney World College Program, where I worked as a Vacation Planner (Disney-speak for ticket sales). It was there that I discovered my natural talent for sales and my love for helping people create meaningful experiences. That spark led me to pursue a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management—and I’ve been building dream vacations ever since.
After moving to Texas (thanks to a match set up by a former Disney roommate—spoiler alert: it worked out!), I joined a boutique agency specializing in Australia and New Zealand. I later transitioned to a corporate role at AAA, where I spent five years and earned recognition as one of the top 10 advisors in Texas.
When I became a mom, I briefly stepped away, thinking I’d trade itineraries for diaper bags. That lasted about six months! Travel was still calling, and I found the perfect balance as a small business owner partnering with Avoya Travel. For over eight years, I’ve been honored to be among their top advisors, consistently achieving over $1 million in annual sales and earning recognition from TravelAge West as an “Up-and-Coming Rockstar Agent Under 40.”
I’ve navigated this industry through major shifts—from the 2008 recession to the uncertainty of 2020—and through it all, my focus has remained the same: to show up for my clients at every stage of life. For me, travel is personal. I genuinely care about the people I work with and believe in doing what’s right—always. It’s a value I learned at Disney, and it continues to guide everything I do.

With more than 80 cruises behind me, I’ve spent years helping travelers discover the world in comfort and style. Based just outside Galveston, I’ve explored the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, and beyond—bringing firsthand insight to every itinerary I design.
River cruising holds a special place in my heart—there’s something magical about experiencing Europe through its waterways, gliding past castles, vineyards, and charming villages. I also love pairing clients with exceptional all-inclusive resorts for those moments when relaxation is the priority.
